The Online Community Compensation survey was initiated in July of 2008. The intention of the study was to get a broad look at online community compensation, as well as insight in to team structures.

We received approximately 225 responses. Participants represent a healthy swath of the types of organizations participating in online community building activities, including: large software companies, large community destination sites, niche community sites, platform providers, interactive marketing firms and independent consultants.

Key insights from the report include:

  • Sex and age of survey respondents
  • Number of employees the respondent manages
  • Respondents' number of years of experience and age
  • Respondent salaries, inluding male vs. female salaries
