Online Community Moderator -- Freelance at WebMD.com
Description
Job Requirements -- WebMD is looking for a community professional with a track record of building engaged online communities. Candidate will be charged with assisting members seeking answers to health concerns, strengthening our audience base, assist in building the company blog strategy, and hosting high-level live events with leaders in the health field. Position may be remote.
Responsibilities
• Develop, engage, stimulate and create interactions with the WebMD community
• Participate in blog strategy, including publishing and integration of new blogs and bloggers
• Produce, host and run live events.
• Moderate group discussions and interact with community team
Required Skills:
• Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities in a fast-paced and fluid environment
• Outstanding organizational and detail-oriented skills
• Knowledge of and fluency in social media tools and techniques
*Experience hosting and conducting live event chat online
* Experience moderating online message boards or groups
• Experience with web metrics or other reporting systems
• Experience in Health writing/reviewing/editing a plus
• Be able to work independently as well as collaborate as a cross-functional team member
Desired (not required) Skills:
• Minimum of 5-8 years Community, Public Relations or Online Content experience
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Professional background in blogging operations, podcasting or other social media, a plus
Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR, Journalism, Business or a related field
