Chief Technology Officer at Wikimedia Foundation
Description
The CTO will lead the technical and operational elements of the Wikimedia Platforms,
including Wikipedia, MediaWiki and all other Foundation projects. Managing a small group of developers, tech-ops, and a large open-source development community, the new CTO will be involved in a broad range of initiatives from fund raising to future architecture development.
Core Competencies & Accomplishments
• BS in Engineering from a respected institution with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Web front end experience with technical competence in LAMP architectures and code
• Demonstrated project management experience, capable of coordinating the efforts of
hundreds of engineers pursuing dozens of parallel projects
• Passion for global open community initiatives benefiting the greater good of all mankind
• Successful international experience both technically and collaboratively
Compensation
• Target - $100,000 USD
