Jobs List
Director, Online Fundraising at United Service Organizations
Description
The Director, Online Development is responsible for leading the USO’s efforts to expand online donations for the USO. The key objective of the role is to dramatically increase the donations that flow online from contributors, from “very little today” to about $10 million.
The Director, Online Development will be responsible for setting up and enhancing the systems—current and evolving—for getting online donations from companies and individuals globally. This new manager will work closely with the USO’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and partners to develop the right in-house and hosted technical capabilities so that the focus remains on the unique capabilities of the USO and allows experts outside the USO to do what they do best.
This evolving role will need a technical and functional infrastructure upon which to build the USO’s online capabilities. To that end, the Director, Online Development will lead the creation, “cleanup,” and segmentation of the evolving online donor database, creating the themes and messaging around the approach to potential donors, working with the Development team to create campaigns to reach different sectors, and then determining how best to enhance the campaigns’ results—measured by dollars to the USO.
The evolution of the online donation systems will offer integrated tools for fundraising, advocacy, events, email marketing, and web content management. The evolved CRM system will help the USO efficiently track and manage all interactions with contributors or donors.

• Work collaboratively with other Development team members on campaign concepts, and develop all online components of campaigns, to include creative messaging, that power the donation capabilities of the USO.

• Monitor the performance of USO’s online donation sites, payment gateway, and donor maintenance plan, identifying appropriate metrics and recommending changes to improve performance.
• Work with other executives in the USO to create the right on-demand constituent relationship management (CRM) software and services that will provide the USO better ways to inspire and mobilize people to financially support the USO’s objectives.
• Conduct analysis to enhance campaigns’ performance measured in campaign revenue and campaign costs.
• Report the financial performance and costs monthly.
• Analyze and propose future investments in paid search, banner advertising, and affiliate marketing.
• Provide pertinent information for weekly/monthly new media development calendar and provide updates to stakeholders.
