Online Community Manager at Online Media & Social Games Startup
Description
New entertainment website, with a unique "social game" dedicated to fans of all kinds seeks a community manager. You must be someone who loves to interact with others online. You will be responsible for establishing and managing forums on our rapidly growing entertainment site, while coordinating other staff and community moderators.
You will play a key role in engaging and retaining our users. The ideal candidate is well-versed in how online forums function and already spends a lot of time interacting with others in online communities.
This is a 15-25 hour a week position. Most of this time can be spent working from home.
If you love all forms of entertainment topics, from movies, TV shows, video games to sports and music, you will want to join in on the fun and talk to us.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish and moderate community forums
- Coordinate other staff and community forum moderators
- Engage our users, and help with user questions/issues
- Maintain forums according to our guidelines
- Define and execute on weekly/monthly forum growth metrics
- Provide community feedback to marketing and products
Job Requirements
- Very strong web communication skills. Blogging experience a plus.
- Strong track record of engaging users and growing online communities.
- Good understanding of online communities and online forum etiquette.
- Intuitive feel for today's teen and young adult pop culture - and “youthspeak.”
- Extremely well organized and detail oriented.
- Naturally enthusiastic, high energy, positive attitude.
- Experience with PHPBB a plus.
